Tips for Entrepreneurs Opening a Restaurant

As entrepreneurial enterprises are concerned, opening a restaurant is by far one of the hardest endeavors to undertake. While the rate of restaurant failure isn’t nearly as bad as it’s purported to be, restaurants do fail at a much higher rate than many other types of self starter business. For that matter, even franchised restaurants (usually the smaller “fast food” variety) have a failure rate just a few percentage points below self starters.

So what, you may ask, can entrepreneurs do to increase their chances for success?

Here are three tips to succeeding in the restaurant business that successful owners adhere to. The first of these is location. Yes, there are some restaurants located in out of the way areas that do succeed on word of mouth, but those instances compared to the instances of restaurants failing because they are in bad locations are miniscule by percentage. The safest bet is to always make sure there is plenty of traffic where you want to open up. Established areas are best, but consequently, most expensive. Don’t get in over your head with a lease that will bury your chances for success from the get-go, but don’t choose an out of the way location because it is cheap. Try to find some middle ground.

The next tip is to concentrate on solely on the things that will make people want to come in, and more importantly, want to come back. I know this sounds a little too simple, but it involves a lot more than just good food and a nice atmosphere. The key is to turn out great food, provide a great atmosphere and to have exceptional customer service, day in and day out. Whether you run a sandwich shop or a high end bistro, getting these three elements together and doing so consistently is paramount to success.

The third tip is to find and culminate good business relationships with your suppliers. Having a supply chain you can count on will allow you to concentrate on what’s important, which is running your business while at your business. You’ll need to find food distributors and a restaurant supply distributor you can count on. Food distributors that are able to deliver on time and are committed to bringing you quality products every time will help you to produce consistently good food that your customers want and eventually come to expect. A good restaurant supply company can make all the difference between having a smooth operation that allows you to run you’re back of house effectively and having to deal with subparts equipment.

Of course, there is a lot more to the restaurant business than these basics, but in the end, the basics are what separate successful restaurants from failed restaurants.

MLM Training – MLM Secrets to Keeping Your Downline Motivated

Network Marketing Motivation.

MLM Motivation.

Two very misunderstood concepts. The average network marketer today wants to keep their team motivated and FIRED UP! That is normal, as you always want them to be mentally and psychologically elevated for Success in Network Marketing.

But here is the challenge:

INFERNO Secret

You CANNOT motivate anyone to Success.

They must motivate themselves. We waste so much time, even a lot of mlm trainers that teach motivation, trying to get the team and people pumped up, juiced up, jammed up, onFire and motivated. That may happen in the moment from the excitement, but it quickly fades.

Keeping your team motivated and ignited simply is not going to happen unless you follow the Rules of Reality in MLM Motivation. These rules are based in reality, not hype, and honesty, not empty enthusiasm.

Ok…what are the 5 Rules of Reality in Network Marketing Motivation?

1) You MUST INSPIRE, not just Motivate.

The greek definition for INSPIRE is “breath within.” This means that you must create within the person the “breath” of confidence and energy that they can connect to and embrace.

How?

Modeling.

You must be the role model and guide to show your mlm folks that you are worthy of following, and are a leader. Do what you ask them to do, and do it BIG. Show them that you believe in what you are saying, and you do it daily in MLM.

And through your actions and words, let them “breathe” that Leadership into their hearts, and keep them inspired and wanting to follow you into a greater life of Success in MLM.

2) You MUST Praise, not just Promote.

Praise is the secret weapon to motivating people. Many times, we will promote and recognize the new folks who went up a pin level, and that is important. But praising someone for a valiant effort that may have had little results will motivate many times 10 times more.

Why?

People will always appreciate being appreciated for the effort, not just the result. Motivation must have a foundation of praise and recognition. If you have that foundation and praise and recognize your people for their efforts as well as results, you will find that there will be more pin levels to celebrate.

3) You MUST pour into them what has been ignored about them.

Most people never get much of any encouragement. That is our job in MLM. We must encourage those who not only need it, but all who are on your team. There is nothing more motivating than the right word at the right time. A word of belief, or a word of “I am there with you” can go a long way in keeping people onFIRE.

You must pour into your team Big Thinking, Big Belief, Big Vision, Big Future, Big Life. You must constantly say the 4 most powerful words in network marketing: “I believe in you.”

If you pour into the person what has been ignored most of their life, they will follow you wherever you go, for the rest of their life. They will become ‘addicted” to your encouragement and the promise of hope that they feel from you.

4) You MUST introduce new Success ideas and Bigger Possibilities into their heart.

New ideas that enlarge a person are worth their weight in gold in MLM. Have you ever seen someone get ignited when they had an “aha” moment? You need to become the “aha master” and continually introduce new Success and possibilities into their life. Most jobs and family cultures are limited and shrink most people’s dreams. Enlarge your teams’ dreams.

The Million Dollar question:

WHY ARE YOU THINKING SO SMALL?

Ramp your team up with some Success ideas that will expand and enlarge their brains beyond where they have ever been! Suggest Success books to read and CDs to listen to, and take them to empowerment seminars. Get them around millionaires in your upline if you have any. Get them thinking HUGE.

5) You MUST give personal time and attention to those who deserve it.

Nothing motivates more than personal attention in Network Marketing. Focusing in on one person for a time, maybe over lunch or coffee, and pouring into them individually. Personal encouragement is a great way to give personal attention to folks.

Find out what is meaningful to them. Find out what they TRULY want in life, and listen to why. Discover what is important in life to them and why. Ask what they want to change more than anything about their life. Ask about family, kids, faith, hobbies, interests, etc.

Find out WHO THEY ARE.

Discover what trips their trigger, and get them so excited that they would be working 24/7 to get it. That is giving someone personal time and attention. It is worth it’s weight in gold.

You cannot motivate anyone. But you can inspire and pour into them so they will motivate themselves to create an MLM business that could make them wealthy.

Now THAT is true motivation in MLM and Network Marketing!

Blessings…

Blood:Water Mission – Hope for a Hurting Continent

Imagine, for a moment, someone having to care for a family member–or perhaps a whole family–suffering from HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Imagine that this person lives with the daily knowledge that she, too, may be infected with the virus, and may soon be too weak to continue.

Imagine that the water she and her family drink, cook in, bathe in, wash their clothes and dishes in, and do everything else in their daily lives with, is contaminated with parasites and bacteria that hamper their fight against illness.

Imagine her and her children, and all the other women and children in her village–the ones healthy enough to manage–having to travel up to ten miles a day on foot to collect water that is safe to use.

Now stop imagining. This is real life for millions of Africans.

When Dan Haseltine, lead singer of the multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning band Jars of Clay, visited Africa in 2002, he was deeply shaken by what he saw. Poverty, social injustice, and physical suffering overwhelmed him. Haseltine returned home determined to turn his despair into hope and, ultimately, action. Sharing his experience with his bandmates, he soon created a vision of clean blood and clean water for Africa, a continent that would be transformed by Christ’s sacrificial symbols of blood and water.

Blood:Water Mission was born.

A nonprofit organization founded to address the HIV/AIDS crisis on the African continent by providing clean water, Blood:Water Mission is greatly reducing the impact of the disease while addressing the underlying issues of poverty and social oppression. They’re building wells, supporting medical facilities, and working toward a changed worldview through personal relationships with African communities.

Jars of Clay’s audience is mainly churchgoers and American youth. Recognizing that these two groups are uniquely equipped to respond to suffering in the world, they saw a shining opportunity to share God’s love and mercy with this hurting continent. They now use their platform to bring awareness to the plight of Africans, linking the needs of one population to the talents and resources of the other, changing lives on both sides of the ocean.

Dan Haseltine tells about one of his most memorable experiences:

“We arrived at a support group for people with HIV/AIDS…. They [had] formed a group to combat the horrible stigma attached to contracting the HIV/AIDS virus. They all had their stories of being disowned by family, or excommunicated by fearful people in their village…. They would meet and encourage one another like most support groups would do [and] also developed programs to be caregivers to the orphans in the village. They would farm and provide food, they also spoke out about destroying the stigma of AIDS….

“It was an amazing group of men and women, but the most heartbreaking was a boy…the youngest member of the support group. He was seven. His name was Kevin. He told us how much the group meant to him and how he would not have lived if it were not for the love and care of [these] people. He also told us he had dreams of becoming a doctor. I had a difficult time knowing that this little boy’s hopes and dreams would not line up with the reality that he would most likely be dead within a year.

“We all felt the hopelessness of this young boy’s place. We all felt again the rage inside that we do so little for such amazing people. All [of this group] will die in the coming years. They will be replaced by others who will try to make a difference in the time they are given. I stared across the small room at two mothers both holding children in their arms. These children were also infected [and] will die. [They] could have been protected. Again, why are we so blind to this need?… Oh how our comfort betrays our greedy hearts!

“We prayed with the group and walked across the street to a small building where some music was filling the air. They were called the Black Rovers: a group of teenagers with a gift of music, singing songs about the horrors of HIV/AIDS with a passion to stir up the community. It was humbling. As a musician, I am very aware of the powerful combination of music and passion…. I spoke to them and encouraged them to keep doing their music….

“They made one comment about needing louder instruments so that they could play for larger crowds. All the instruments they played were handmade. The guitars were made from gas cans and sticks. The drums were calves skin and cans. It sounded wonderful.”

You can read more journal entries on Blood:Water Mission’s website.

Blood:Water Mission’s work depends on the generosity of people who have more than they need to survive–which includes pretty much everyone reading this article. Although the enormity of the tragedy is difficult to grasp, the good news is that it takes only one American dollar to provide clean water to one African for one year.

The 1000 Wells Project is currently building wells in 1000 African communities. Businesses, churches, schools, artists, and individuals are collecting funds to sponsor the construction of these wells. In the process, they are learning about how HIV/AIDS affects African communities, and what it means to partner humbly with them to effect positive change.

With a clean water supply nearby, women and children will no longer have to spend all day hauling water back to their families. People with HIV will live longer and better, supporting their families and contributing to their communities. All will become stronger in the process.

As a participant in Blood:Water Mission’s 1000 Wells Project, you, too, will be changed.

Please visit their website, www.bloodwatermission.com, to learn about the variety of ways you can help. Or contact them at bloodwater@bloodwatermission.com or 615-550-4296.

Think of it. One dollar…one year of clean water for someone struggling to survive. This is a vision worth turning into reality.

Early Detection Of Any Disease Is The Key So What Are The First Symptoms Of Lung Cancer?

Much research work has been dedicated to find out the first symptoms of lung cancer. Cancer is that painful disease that needs no introduction and cancer of the lung is one of its most common forms. It is said that early detection of cancer is the key to its prevention.

Extensive research works conducted at Mesothelioma research clinics have uncovered some symptoms of lung cancer closely linked with the disease.

Lung Cancer Symptoms

People addicted to tobacco and those who are constantly exposed to the ill effects of asbestos are more susceptible to lung cancer. Ignorance about the symptoms of lung cancer may lead to a full-fledged blown up case.

Be on alert if you are having cough most of the time. This is one of the first symptoms. A related symptom may be a change in the nature of coughing. Other symptoms may be- being short of breath and coughing up bloodstained sputum. Mesothelioma research has established that aches while breathing, loss of appetite, fatigue and loss of weight can also be the first symptoms of the cancer of the lung.

These are considered to be the primary symptoms of lung cancer. There are secondary symptoms too.

Sudden development of a hoarse voice is one of the secondary lung cancer symptoms. Difficulty in swallowing is considered as another symptom of cancer of the lung.

Swelling of the face due to blockage of main blood vessel and swelling of neck due to enlarged lymph nodes may be other symptoms as well.

Treat pain in the right rib region and shortness of breath due to accumulation of fluid as warning signals of cancer of the lung. When you notice any of them, visit your physician for a thorough check-up.

Let’s combat the deadly lung cancer together.

The Wonders of Surgery, The Apicoectomy

An apicoectomy is an oral surgery root canal
treatment procedure that is carried out to
save a tooth which might otherwise need to
be extracted.

Even when a large amount of bone has been
lost, most of these cases heal uneventfully
and new bone is seen to fill in about the
end of the root completely in six to 12
months.

A couple of case histories of apicoectomy
surgery from my personal practice are
discussed, and before and after x-ray pictures
are shown.

The first, of a woman patient, is of interest
because of large, almost identical granuloma
infections showing lateral canals which came
from the upper teeth on either side of her
two front teeth (lateral incisors).
Though her severe gastrointestinal involvement
improved dramatically with root canal treatment
of these teeth and nutritional counseling,
restults were not completely satisfactory.

With our current knowledge of Dr. Price’s
research discoveries – and in spite of the
long history of service of these two teeth –
with indsight it appears she would have been
better served by removal of these teeth.

The second case involved the largest cyst
surgically operated upon, which was caused not
by tooth decay but by a football injury.
he filling in of new bone at the infection
site around the two teeth after six and 12
months proved gratifying to me and the patient.
Because he moved away, I am unware of his
subsequent health history.

The successful healing in these two cases
emphasizes how difficult it is for dentists
nd patients a like to believe these teeth
could still be carrying infection.

For those suffering severe degenerative
disease problems, it will be only by having
seemingly healthy root filled teeth removed
that judgement of Price’s work will be possible.

Marketing for Business Leaders: Three Steps to Increase Marketing Effectiveness

In the quest to increase results from marketing, companies tend to focus on tactics. They worry about creating a better brochure, upgrading the website, or running a new ad campaign. However, often the greatest leaps in marketing effectiveness come from focusing on how it all ties together. Here are three steps for business leaders to improve their marketing effectiveness by fine-tuning their marketing processes.

1. Know what you need.

Marketing’s main job is to feed the sales force with nice, warm leads. Step one towards better marketing is to understand how much and what kind of food they need.

The “how much” is easily answered using basic math. Start with your sales goals and work backward. You’ll need to answer the following questions:

* What is our annual new business revenue goal?
* How many new customers does this represent?
* What percentage of qualified opportunities do we actually close?
* What percentage of leads actually become qualified opportunities?

Using this information, you can determine how many new inquiries your marketing must generate in order for the sales team to meet their goals. For example, let’s say your annual new business revenue goal is $10M; your average deal size is $100,000; your sales people generally close 50% of the qualified opportunities presented to them; and 5% of your inquiries become qualified opportunities. A quick run around the calculator tells us that your marketing efforts need to generate 4000 leads for the sales team.

With this information in hand, marketing planning becomes much more focused. Every activity in the plan should in some way contribute to generating inquiries and developing leads. If you can’t trace a program or activity to this result, don’t spend the money.

2. Match your marketing process to the buying process.

Unless you are selling an impulse item, the decision to purchase your product or service is based on a series of small decisions. Marketing helps to facilitate, and hopefully accelerate, the decision process by making the right information available to the prospect at the right time and from the right source.

It is critical to understand the entire process your customers go through while deciding to buy your product or service. Typically companies have a good understanding of what goes on after an opportunity has been identified, but few spend the time to understand the front end of the process.

A typical buying process could go something like this. The prospect:

a) Becomes aware that he or she has a need
b) Identifies options – often a list of vendors that offer a
solution
c) Researches the various solutions
d) Creates a “long list” and issues an RFP
e) Creates a “shortlist”
f) Invites vendors for demos
g) Checks references
h) Negotiates
i) Purchases

Information needs are different at each point in the process. A successful marketing program matches these needs. It allows the company to create awareness among the target prospects by engaging them in a flow of communication that helps navigate their way through the buying process. A marketing program that fails to meet the buyer’s needs at each step of the process won’t deliver as many qualified leads.

3. Get your sales and marketing people on the same page

It is truly astonishing how many companies suffer from a fundamental disconnection between sales and marketing. Here’s a sure sign that your company has that problem. Ask the question “which marketing programs result in revenue?” You’ll likely hear marketing people complain that the sales team doesn’t follow up on leads and won’t track them. And, you’ll hear sales people say that marketing’s leads are worthless. You can’t get an answer because no one knows.

Disconnected sales and marketing efforts result in burned leads, wasted efforts, lengthy sales cycles, and low revenue. It is well worth the effort to develop a cross-functional team.

One of the easiest and most effective places to start with is to develop a common definition of the word “lead”. If you gathered your sales and marketing teams together and ask everyone for their definition, you’ll likely find the sales team has a very different view than your marketing team. (Don’t be surprised if you get different answers within the sales and marketing staffs as well.) Now work together to establish a common definition. Use this definition to guide marketing in developing leads before handing them off to sales.

These steps are a good start toward making your marketing initiatives more effective. Of course, there is much more you can do to tighten the process so that your efforts produce greater results; but by taking these three steps you’ll be well on your way.

Retire Early With Financial Planning Dos And Don’ts

It is a well known fact that nothing is permanent in this world. Everything is ephemeral. That is why it is always best to have backups, especially financial ones, in case things go out of hand. Hence, a good financial planning for your retirement is the most feasible idea in order for you to save for the future.

DO’s

1. Do know what you are getting into

When making financial planning retirement, it is best to make sure if the management team of the company where you will invest your money is capable of providing you the necessary services that you need. Know how they are going to make money for you. Research the industry. Is it growing? What are the competitors like?

2. Do have an exit strategy

If you make your financial planning retirement, try to create an exit strategy as well. This is to safeguards you from any imminent problems that may arise. Remember that the liquidity of your investment is very important. So, before you start with your financial planning retirement, ask yourself: Can you easily convert it to cash when you need to get out or if something happens and you or your beneficiaries need it?

3. Do invest only in what you are comfortable with

Shop around and be proactive – don’t wait for an insurance company or retirement plan institution to appear at the last second. Even if a financial plan looks very attractive, if you do not understand it enough, or are not prepared to risk losing your money, do not put your money in it.

4. Do remember: nothing is sure in the world of investment

Until the matured money is actually in your pocket or is fully enjoyed by your beneficiaries, all projected returns are simply expectations. The important thing is to have a fallback and move forward. So, when making a financial planning retirement, keep in mind that it is not feasible to entirely depend on one financial institution. Look for more alternatives.

DON’Ts

1. Don’t buy into something just because everyone is

When making a financial planning retirement, do some independent research and analysis first; do not be swayed by what other people’s investment moves. Keep in mind that not all financial planning retirement packages are created equal; each plan has its own pros and cons. So, it is best that you know what will work on you when you make your very own financial planning retirement.

2. Don’t invest in the stock market

If you do not know your way around in the stock market, then do not put that on your list as you go along with your financial planning retirement. Stock markets can be a profitable retirement investment vehicle, but they tend to be a risky business. When you do your financial planning for retirement, keep in mind that it is not wise to gamble everything that you have, especially if the financial planning retirement scheme you are contemplating with is still unclear to you. At the very least, don’t put all your eggs in one basket, so to speak.

3. Do not borrow money just so you can head off immediately

When making a financial planning retirement, it is best that you focus more on your very own finances rather than deliberately borrowing money from others just so you can start right away.

The Role Of Gold Bullion Coins In Your Portfolio

Are Gold Bullion Coins Worth It?

Today’s world offers investors plenty of avenues for their money. Which ones are worth it and which ones just bring unnecessary risks with very low chances of profit?

Many people have turned to buying gold bullion in order to improve their financial situations. We know gold has been around ever since man first started living in a society. Gold has grown together with mankind, or vice-versa, depending on how you want to look at it. Let’s have a look at the process of investing in gold bullion coins and at some of the factors related to such a financial placement.

What Are Gold Bullion Coins?

A gold bullion coin contains one ounce of pure gold. The quality or origin of the gold may differ, however, so make sure to only acquire gold bullions from respected companies that have dozens of years of tradition and trust. Here are some of the most popular and trustworthy gold bullion coins: the American Gold Eagle, the Australian Nugget, and the South African Krugerrand.

Buy Gold Bullions! – Here Is The First Reason Why

Listed gold bullion coins are internationally renown and recognized. When compared to gold bars, coins are much more versatile. You can travel to any part of the world and find a gold dealer who will exchange your bullion coins. Bars take longer to sell, as they need to be cleared and checked for accuracy and authenticity. Also gold coins are a lot easier to carry and store in a safe place. This feature becomes especially useful if you are storing gold inside your own home.

Gold Bullion Coins Are Easily Divisible

This option may not seem important at first, but it becomes really useful in some situations. If you just want to sell a small part of your gold reserve you can always just select a few coins, as compared to gold bars, which can only be sold whole. This increases the versatility of your gold reserve, as you will never have to worry about selling it all at once. You can also benefit from market forces. If the price of gold suddenly skyrockets you can sell a quarter or half of your bullion coins and still keep a safe quantity of the precious metal.

Gold Bullions Are Safe

I have saved the best for last. There is no more persuasive factor than the security offered by an investment. You can try to go with mutual funds, real estate investments, or overseas placement, but gold bullion remains one of the safest alternatives for your cash.

If you are looking for spectacular investments and immediate profits, maybe gold bullion coins are not the answer for you. On the other hand, if you are trying to establish an investment that offers equilibrium and security, gold coins should be right on top of your list! They are probably the best method you can choose in order to protect your wealth in the unfortunate case of an international economic collapse.

International financial problems are often brutally reflected in our everyday economy. Gold coins are almost immune to such incidents, as they have been for centuries. Even if many people associate gold bullion with pirate stories or fairytales, the fact is that investing in gold coins can make the difference between a smart and a risky financial position.

Buying a Foreclosed Home

Foreclosed house as the name suggests is the house that is closed for an individual or a group of individuals prior to its being owned by some other person. This situation arises when a mortgager either does not bother to take his house back or is unable to release it due to adverse circumstances and so lack of money. As a result the mortgaging company takes over the charge of the house and offers to resale it.

The Foreclosed Homes figure in newspaper advertisements and property news, local magazines and on Internet. Real estate agents too have plenty of foreclosed homes offers lying with them. So a talk with these agents can be quite beneficial. A visit to the courthouse can also inform you about many budding and mature deals. On the same hand you can also fortunately grab a wonderful deal by attending the invariably held auctions for these houses. If the auction options appears risky to you, ensure a safe purchase of a foreclosed house via a bank or the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.

What makes the Foreclosed homes a cut above the rest is their inexpensiveness. These houses are available at an incredible fifty percent discount to their market value. In the present scenario when property prices are touching the sky, the cheap rates of these foreclosed houses are definitely a boon for the mediocre class. The down payment for these houses is also considerably less in comparison to the amount required while purchasing a normal house. Moreover these houses can be conveniently financed at affordable EMIs through banks and other financing institutions. At several times it is possible to get upto hundred percent of the purchase financed!

But there are always two sides of a coin. So if there are merits there are demerits too. The condition of the house or its wear and tear is the foremost concern. Since these houses are purchased as it is, it is at the onus of the buyer to fix up all the infrastructure problems. The risk factor is more in case of purchasing these houses through an auction because most often more than half of the contenders have not seen the interiors of the house before. Also the deal once made cannot be reversed at any cost. After the deal is finalized it becomes mandatory for the buyer to accept the house even though it is a shack. However if the buyer is prudent enough to acquire requisite information about the house prior to quoting a price for it, the purchase can be extremely beneficial.

The buyer of a foreclosed house should bear in mind that these houses are not necessarily empty. Till the mortgage company hands over the house to the buyer, the initial residents are the owners. It is at the discretion of the buyer to keep the former owners as tenants or ask them to evacuate the house. Moreover the furnishing of the house or its renovation is not the responsibility of those dwelling in there since the beginning.

Mansi aggarwal writes about foreclosed home.

Make Your Accountant Your Best Friend

Many people just assume their accountant will cut their taxes as much as possible. To get the biggest benefit from them, you need to be a bit more proactive.

Make Your Accountant Your Best Friend

Accountants tend to come in two types. The first is a reactive accountant, one that waits for you to send in your financial information and then prepares your taxes. The second asks you to come in and fill in annoying questionnaires about your life and so on. You want to go with this second accountant.

To truly save money on your taxes, you want a proactive accountant. A proactive accountant recognizes that the best way to cut tax bills is to plan ahead. They do not want to see you in April when it is time to prepare last years taxes. Instead, they want to see you in January every year to have a lengthy discussion about your finances, changes you foresee in your life that year and your plans for the future. Once they have this information, they can give you definitive direction on steps to take to cut down on your taxes.

Despite what you may have heard, accountants are just as human as you and I. If you don’t make any effort to get your tax strategy sorted out, they probably will not either. If they give you advice and you don’t follow it, you have no one to blame but yourself. To get the biggest benefit you must avoid procrastination. They are going to save you thousands, if not tens of thousands, of dollars, so do your part.

So, how do you find a proactive accountant? You can look around the net or ask friends. You will never really know what you have, however, until you meet with one. When you do, you need to ask them what steps they will take to handle your taxes. If they make no mention of a review of your finances for the purpose of making recommendations, it is time to move to the next one.

To get the biggest benefit from your tax professional, you need two things. First, find a proactive one. Second, follow their directives immediately.
