Scooping the pot is the ultimate Omaha online poker victory: it’s when a player takes both the high and the low pots at the casino. This means you get to take the whole pot- instead of only getting half. Of course, this means more money for you. Because it is such a coveted position, it is actually very difficult to achieve when playing poker online. Don’t get disheartened, though, with a little practice and patience, you may one day be able to scoop the pot.

You can only scoop the pot is you build off of the community cards. Obviously, this means that the other players have access to the same cards- so be careful. The best way to scoop is to make a hand that uses numerically low cards in a high value arrangement. An example of this would be a straight with an Ace low. That way, you get the value of having a straight for the high hand, but the low numerical values could also earn you the low spot. Only the best of the best can ride that fine line between a hand that can scoop, and a hand that won’t take anything at the showdown.

If you want to scoop the pot, you need to play successfully. Only play hands that can take both the high and the low spots. Anything else and you are just wasting your time.
